I think people get carried away with the whole social status of a Doctor which is really unnecessary. No doubt that all rightetous persons will accept Christ but not everyone that dies will be righteous. I am not sorry I married outside the LDS faith. She will be pressured and will likely shut you out. The point of a date is to get to know someone better. The LDS Church encourages that young women explore their options and meet all different kinds of people.
I agree she should be able to watch a movie or do her own research. He is in a way to become a Ex mormon. I tried telling him that I know myself enough that I would not be happy in this kind of relationship. They are at the service of others at the expense of their family. Sometimes I often think he is a wrong choice.
My boyfriend and I are both in medical school and it is so difficult to manage a relationship while surviving the class load. You can have all the time in the world and not be committed. Cold approaches on Mormon girls are challenging. She will probably feel persecuted and attacked if you try. I even had three kids in with me during a impromptu vaginal examination when I was preggo with my fourth. So there's THAT to look forward to. You got some good advice from the other posters on how to maintain contact. Someday she may really regret everything, and miss you like crazy. But it is important to be ruthlessly honest with yourself about how you feel about it. I suppose it depends on your personality.

Over the years, it would have felt increasingly burdensome to accommodate practices that seemed to me like superstition. When I talk to him about this he seems to agree that he doesn't like the person he's becoming and doesn't look forward to a career in medicine, but says he can't leave medicine. Religious differences, however are real. Marriage is meant to be eternal. While it's true that Mormons are not one-dimensional and completely predictable, the odds of a successful relationship, given the OP's description of his girlfriend, are slim.
